**Your website is losing you customers if people can’t see a price, can’t tap to
WhatsApp you, wait too long on mobile, find old information, see no proof, can’t
find you on Google, or can’t tell what you do in five seconds. Each of these takes
about a minute to check yourself, and most are fixed in days, not months.**

## The customer you never meet

The worst kind of lost customer is the one you never hear about. They found your
link, looked for ten seconds, and left. No message, no complaint, no “ma32oul, how
much?”. Just silence.

Your Instagram shows you likes and DMs. Your website rarely shows you the people
who gave up. So the owner assumes “the site is fine, nobody complains”, while enquiries
quietly go to the clinic, café or contractor down the road.

And people do check. In a US survey of 1,201 consumers, DreamHost found that 58%
often or always check a business website to confirm what they saw on social media,
Google or AI tools. In Lebanon, with around 4.58 million social media identities(
DataReportal, Digital 2026), the path is the same: they see you on Instagram, then
they look you up before they trust you with their money.

## 7 signs your website is quietly losing you customers

Grab your phone, not your laptop. Most of your visitors are on mobile data in a
car in Jounieh traffic, not at a desk. Run each check as if you were a stranger.

### 1. There is no price anywhere

“Price on request” feels safe to the owner. To the customer it reads as “expensive,
and they’ll judge me for asking.” Many people simply leave and message the competitor
who shows a number.

**Self-check:** Can a stranger find a price, a “starting from” figure, or a clear
range within two taps?

**Fix:** Publish starting prices or packages in USD. If your work is custom, show
a range and what changes the price. You don’t need a full price list, just enough
to stop the wrong people and reassure the right ones.

### 2. There is no one-tap WhatsApp or call button

In Lebanon, WhatsApp is the phone line, the booking system and the customer service
desk. If a visitor has to copy a number, switch apps and paste it, a good share
of them won’t bother.

**Self-check:** On your phone, can you reach a WhatsApp chat with your business
in one tap from the home page? Does the number actually work and get answered?

**Fix:** Add a visible WhatsApp button (a wa.me link with a pre-filled message like“
Hi, I found you on your website”) and a tap-to-call link. Keep it on every page,
not hidden in the footer.

### 3. It is slow on mobile

Speed is the silent killer. Google’s own research on more than 10,000 mobile sites
found that 53% of mobile visits are abandoned when a page takes longer than 3 seconds
to load. That study is from 2016, so treat it as a global benchmark, not a Lebanese
figure. Patience has not improved since.

**Self-check:** Open your site on mobile data, not Wi-Fi. Count. Then run it through
Google’s free PageSpeed Insights and look at the mobile score.

**Fix:** Compress huge photos, remove sliders and auto-playing videos, cut heavy
plugins, and use decent hosting. A 6MB hero image from your photographer is the
usual culprit.

### 4. The information is out of date

Old opening hours. A branch that closed in 2023. A menu with prices from two currencies
ago. A “Summer offer” from three summers back. Each one tells the visitor nobody
is home.

This one costs trust fast. In the same DreamHost US survey, 60% said an outdated-
looking website hurts how they see a business’s quality or trustworthiness, and
outdated or inaccurate information was the most frustrating website problem for
34%.

**Self-check:** Read your hours, address, phone number, prices and team page out
loud. Is every line still true today?

**Fix:** Fix the facts first, then set a reminder every three months to review them.
If updating is a headache, that is a sign your site is hard to manage, not that
you’re lazy.

### 5. There is no proof you’re real and good

A site with stock photos and “We are passionate about quality” proves nothing. People
want evidence: real photos of your place and team, before-and-after work, client
names (with permission), reviews.

Reviews matter almost everywhere. In BrightLocal’s 2025 survey of US consumers,
only 4% said they never read online reviews of local businesses.

**Self-check:** Is there at least one real photo of you or your space, and at least
three reviews or results a stranger can see without searching?

**Fix:** Replace stock images with real ones (even good phone photos beat fake smiles),
add a short reviews section, and link to your Google reviews.

> No pitch attached, and you keep the advice either way.

### 6. People can’t find you on Google

Someone hears your name at a dinner in Achrafieh, Googles it the next morning, and
finds a Facebook page from 2019 and a competitor’s ad. That customer is gone, and
you’ll never know they existed.

**Self-check:** Search your business name, then “your service + your area” (for
example “dentist Jounieh” or “catering Tripoli”). Do you appear? Is your Google
Business Profile complete with hours, photos and your website link?

**Fix:** Give every page a clear title and description, make sure your site is connected
to Google Search Console, and complete your Google Business Profile. None of this
guarantees rankings, but without it you are invisible by default. These basics also
help when people ask AI assistants for recommendations.

### 7. A stranger can’t tell what you do in 5 seconds

“Welcome to our world of excellence” says nothing. A visitor should instantly understand
three things: what you do, who it’s for, and what to do next.

**Self-check:** Show your home page to a friend for five seconds, then hide it.
Ask them what you sell, where you are, and how to contact you. If they hesitate,
so do your customers.

**Fix:** Rewrite the top of the page as one plain sentence (“Family dental clinic
in Zalka. Book on WhatsApp.”), one supporting line, and one clear button.

## Quick scorecard

 | Sign | 60-second check | Typical fix |
  | No prices | Find a price in two taps | Starting prices or ranges in USD |
 | No WhatsApp tap | One tap from home page to chat | Sticky WhatsApp and call buttons |
 | Slow on mobile | Load on mobile data, run PageSpeed Insights | Compress images, lighter setup, better hosting |
 | Outdated info | Read hours, address, prices out loud | Update now, review every 3 months |
 | No proof | One real photo and three reviews visible | Real photos, reviews, results |
 | Not on Google | Search name and “service + area” | Basic SEO, Search Console, Business Profile |
 | Unclear first 5 seconds | The friend test | One plain headline and one button |

If you ticked three or more, your website is not neutral. It is actively sending
people away.

## Common mistakes when fixing these

 * **Redesigning everything at once.** Fix the cheap, high-impact issues first:
WhatsApp button, prices, hours, headline. A full redesign can come later.
 * **Hiding behind Instagram.** Linking your whole site to your Instagram doesn’t
solve anything if the account gets restricted. We explain why in [Instagram vs. website](https://onecallstudio.com/instagram-vs-website-lebanon/).
 * **Testing only on a laptop.** Your office Wi-Fi and big screen hide most of these
   problems.
 * **Adding more instead of clearer.** Another slider or pop-up rarely helps. Removing
   clutter usually does.
 * **Setting and forgetting.** A website is not a sign you hang once. Twenty minutes
   a quarter keeps it honest.

## What fixing it actually costs

Most of the fixes above are small. Some you can do yourself this afternoon. If the
site is old, slow and hard to edit, rebuilding is often cheaper than patching, and
it doesn’t have to take months.

As one honest example, One Call Studio (from the team behind Webboxed) builds small-
business WordPress sites with mobile-first design, social and map links, basic SEO,
Google Analytics and Search Console set up, and human QA. Packages start at $490
for up to 4 pages, with delivery in 3 to 10 business days once materials are ready.

Quick answers

## Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my website is losing customers?

Check it on your phone as a stranger would: can you see a price, tap to WhatsApp,
load it in under 3 seconds, and understand what the business does in 5 seconds?
If any answer is no, people are likely leaving without contacting you.

Should a small business in Lebanon show prices on its website?

Yes, at least starting prices or ranges, usually in USD. It filters out the wrong
enquiries and reassures serious customers, who otherwise often message a competitor
who shows a number.

How can I test my website speed for free?

Open the site on mobile data rather than Wi-Fi, then run it through Google's free
PageSpeed Insights tool and look at the mobile result. Oversized images are the
most common cause of slow pages.

Is it better to fix my old website or rebuild it?

If the problems are content (prices, hours, headline, WhatsApp button), fix them.
If the site is slow, hard to edit and outdated in several places at once, a rebuild
is often faster and cheaper than patching.

How long does it take to fix these problems?

Many fixes, like adding a WhatsApp button or updating hours, take minutes. A full
rebuild of a small-business site typically takes 3 to 10 business days once content
and access are ready.
